Hey fellas, we have a repeat champ !!

I’d like to congratulate Jason Steiner on being the repeat champ for the 2023 FMMGA Championship !! Its what we all expected right ???  Wait – not so fast !!  Jason did make a valiant effort battling some illness but he is not the expected repeat champ.

Coming from behind, Jon (Red) Wallace put up two days of consistent numbers at both Chester and Fort Mill and is our repeat and defending champion for the Net Division of the 2023 FMMGA championship !!  Congrats Red – a great two days of golf and well deserved. Red shot 82-83 for the two days to shoot 141.8 Net and beat out Gary Cunningham by 4/10 of a stroke !!  The trophy case is needing to get bigger.

The overall scratch champ came from the first flight and this guy is no surprise winner either.  Blake Urbano has been one of the top 2-3 golfers in our club for a few years now and he is now the FMMGA Champion in the Scratch division with an impressive 73-71 total of 144 – Even Par for the two days.  Good playing on 2 different golf courses. Congrats Blake – well played.  As said, Jason did put up a good defense and finished second at 73-75 for 148.

We had a great two days of golf.  Both Chester and Fort Mill were in great shape and the staff at both clubs were wonderful.  Thanks to our pro Dennis Rysz for all his help !! We loved the shotgun at Chester and we loved the tee times at Fort Mill bringing in the winner.

Attached are some pics and the final results of all the very competitive flights.  Congrats to all the flight winners – well played my friends !! We handed out most of the gift cards after the flight was announced but some had to leave.  If you finished 3rd or better in any of the flights, you have a gift card from the proshop coming.  The ones not collected will be in the proshop with your names on them.

Its been a great year so far with a couple more events to come to finish off the year.  Lets finish strong !!
