the 2024 season
Our final 2 day tournament of 2024 took place last weekend at FMGC, The Fort Mill Men's Golf Association Championship. Weather was spectacular on Saturday but turned a bit cool & breezy on Sunday. Ashley Patterson & his staff had the course in great shape, Anita & staff provided great hospitality and Dennis & his golf staff were awesome as always. Thank you to all the employees at FMGC for your efforts throughout the year, you provide us with a great golf experience.
Now onto the golf. We had some new wrinkles this year based on membership feedback. Both days were played at FMGC & we had a senior division. All flights were very competitive. Chuck Floyd was our Senior Champion this year. Regular flight winners were: Stacy Basset - Flight 4, Dwayne Hartsoe - Flight 3, Scottie Couchenour - Flight 2 & Dan Drane - Flight 1. Our Overall & Net Champion both came from the Championship Division this year. Our overall net champion, with a score of 141 was Greg Sexton. Our 2024 FMMGA Champion is no surprise - Jason Steiner. In a very competitive division, Jason & Mike Grager were tied with 9 to play when Jason went on a birdie run. His final score of 139 bested the field by 6.
Thank you to all participants. The year is winding down but we have a few more tournaments to go - The Challenge Tournament in November & The Holiday Scramble in December. Our annual membership meeting will be January 21st where the 2025 tournament schedule will be released. Enjoy what's left of the good weather!!
